Welcome to Mobberley Station Cattery
We are a safe, secure, working cattery situated in the beautiful garden at Station Cottages. Full of natural light and garden views, we offer your cats a friendly, welcoming, and comfortable place to stay while you are away. Serving Manchester and Cheshire, we are 20 minutes from Altrincham, and 5 minutes from Knutsford. You are very welcome to view our facilities during opening times, please email or call us to arrange this.
We offer three types/sizes of guest rooms for your cats:
Single chalet (£13 per night) for one cat.
Double chalet (£18 per night) for two cats.
Family chalet (£26 per night) for up to four cats from the same family.
The family chalets are two single chalets with a sliding door opened in-between.
Our Facilities
-
All the chalets are insulated and lined with PVC which makes for easy cleaning between stays. They each have a semi-outdoor area and sleeping area, to offer as much space as possible during your cats stay. Our sleeping areas have two shelves, a rear window, and a heat lamp. Your cats can relax cosily in the warmth while watching all the wildlife potter by outside the window.
-
In the semi-outdoor area, we have wooden ramps which take your cats up onto an outdoor shelf where they have full view of the cattery walkway, any of the other cats we have staying with us, and the garden. Litter trays are in the outdoor area so any bad smells can blow away!
-
Our team is down to provide food, play time and cuddles to your cats both morning and evening, ensuring they are kept happy and healthy! Keeping your cats stimulated is key to keeping them stress free during their stay, we have scratch pads in each chalet as well as plenty of toys If they’re looking for some extra play. Of course, if you feel your cat would be happier left alone, we will respect that, just let us know!

Before Arriving
Your cats will only be allowed to stay if they are fully vaccinated against Cat Flu and Feline Enteritis. We will be required to view certification of this for our records (this is so all cats are kept safe!). We will also require that your cats have had recent worming and flea treatments, again please let us know the dates of these. If your cat requires treatment during their stay with us, then we will have to invoice you for the cost of this (£10 per cat).
It is always useful if you can share as much information as possible about your cat’s health with us before you come. Their likes and dislikes too! We are happy to administer medication, providing that your vet is happy for your cat to be cared for in the cattery while they may be unwell. You can talk us through what may be required on arrival.
Please be aware we cannot administer insulin to diabetic cats as there has to be a 12-hour gap between injections and our opening hours don’t allow for this.

2 Station Cottages , Station Road, Mobberley WA16 6LA
Please leave driveways clear and park in The Railway Pub car park where possible. If you have two cats to carry, feel free to block the car in on our drive while you unload. Just ask if you need a hand with this.
We are the house right next to Mobberley Station. Look for the red “2” sign on the left-hand side house, open the garden cattery gate and follow the path. You will see a sign on the second wooden gate and then the cattery on your left-hand side. Someone will be there to greet you if you have booked an appointment. Please do not expect anyone to be there outside of opening hours.
-
As the cattery is a small, independently run cattery, situated in Josies’ home, please understand that drop offs, pick-ups and viewings are by appointment only between the following times;
Monday - Saturday; 9:30-11:30am and 4-6pm
Drop off times; 9:30-10am or 4-5pm
Collection times; 10-10:30am or 4-5pm
Sundays and Bank Holidays; CLOSED
We will arrange your drop off and collection times during booking. If, for any reason, you cannot stick to the agreed time, please let us know as soon as possible and we can re-arrange. If you are unable to make the AM drop off times, then we suggest you bring your cat the night before. Also bear in mind if you are requesting a PM collection, we will have to charge a full rate for that day as we are not able to book the space out to anyone else.
-
We can feed your cats twice a day (AM & PM) but will be guided by you and your cat’s routine. We offer James Well-Beloved dry food, and Whiskas wet food. If this is not suitable for your cat, please bring enough of your food to cover them for their stay. Please be aware there is no discount offered for you bringing your own food. Water will be refreshed both AM & PM.
If your cats are with us over Christmas, they will be treated with Turkey dinner – if this is okay with you!
If there is medication which needs hiding in food, we have plenty of treats and cat lick to disguise any nasty flavours!
-
There are no minimum stay rules apart from during peak times (school holidays generally). If your cat is with us over Easter, Summer, Christmas or New Year, then there is a minimum of a 7-night booking (unless we can slot you between longer existing bookings). Of course, you are welcome to collect them within that time, but we will have to charge you for the full 7 nights.
-
If your booking is cancelled less than 7 days before the booking starts, the full cost must be paid, unless we are able to find a replacement!
If your cat is collected before the agreed end of booking or dropped off later than arranged (without 7 days’ notice) then the full amount is still payable.
-
Owning lots of animals themselves, Josie and Dawn understand the worry of leaving your cats in the care of someone else (especially when it’s the first time!). You will receive photos and updates from us usually via WhatsApp unless you have requested not to.
Please let us know if you are unhappy for photos of your cats to be published on the cattery social media pages.
-
As part of the initial forms, we will ask for your consent that in the case of suspected injury or illness, a Veterinary Surgeon may be contacted to have your cat examined, and investigations performed if required (e.g., blood tests, x-rays). An appropriate course of action will be taken on the advice of the Vet. We will always contact you or next of kin about this unless you have requested not to be informed while you are away.
Where possible any treatments will be undertaken by your cat’s ordinary vet, but at the Mobberley Station Cattery’s nominated vet (Ark Vets, Mobberley), where that’s not possible.
We are happy to administer any prescribed treatment the Vet considers advisable. But the veterinary consultation, tests and treatment will be at your own expense
